A TOOL FOR PEOPLE TO SEE is a self-published, risograph-printed magazine that reimagines the city beyond productivity, inviting moments of play, pause, and connection. Built from generative prompts structured as FOR PEOPLE… / TO SEE… / IN…, the publication shifts how we perceive and inhabit public space. Produced in a small run and distributed by hand, it encourages readers to slow down and engage with their surroundings in unexpected ways.
The first issue centers on three prompts that inspired a series of small events across Rotterdam:
FOR PEOPLE who speak many languages
TO SEE stories in gestures
IN shadowed corners
FOR PEOPLE who always carry a notebook
TO SEE the choices in how we move
IN open spaces
FOR PEOPLE who miss their hometown
TO SEE absurdity
IN spaces in between

The project is grounded in the belief that play creates openings for friction, interaction, and connection.
In a world where productivity defines success, slowing down becomes an act of freedom. By inviting unusual encounters with the city, A TOOL FOR PEOPLE TO SEE offers an alternative way of relating to space and to one another.
